The main aim of this proposal is to develop a real time water pH,TDS and Turbidity monitoring device that can measure and display the pH, TDS and Turbidity value of the water that is being processed and distributed across the city through the pipelines. The pH measurement is a critical process and is widely performed in manufacturing procedures from water and wastewater treatment to pharmaceutical production. Traditionally, maintenance methods, leading to delays in production. In existing inventions, a person manually has to check the water quality parameters taking the readings and leading to delays in production and errors.

Important of turbidity:

In drinking water, turbidity can indicate the presence of bacteria levels pathogens small particles that can have harmful organism from disinfection processes and aquatic plants smother aquatic organisms and carry contaminants and pathogens such as lead mercury and bacteria

Health Effects of pH:

United States Environmental Protection Agency suggests that open water systems maintain pH levels of in the range of 6.5 and 8.5. Water with a low pH can be acidic, normally delicate and corrosive. Acidic water can filter metals from funnels and fixtures, for example, copper, lead, and zinc.

It can likewise harm metal pipes and cause aesthetic issues, for example, a metallic or harsh taste, clothing re-coloring or blue-green stains in sinks and drains. Water with a low pH may contain metals like what is already mentioned copper, lead, and zinc. Drinking water with a pH level over 8.5 shows that an abnormal state of alkalinity minerals are available. High alkalinity does not represent a health hazard, but rather can cause aesthetic issues, for example, a soluble alkali taste to the water that influences coffee to taste bitter; scale develop in pipes; and brought down the productivity of electric water warmers.

OBJECTIVES
• To measure the pH and Turbidity drinking water using IOT based methods.
• To develop a system to measure the total dissolved solid in the pipe line of cities.
• To place a sensor at different location of pipe line to create sought of mesh network, which help to better mange the quality of the water through the pipe lines.
• To provide better statistics by recording the data using cloud networks.

Inspiration

We always wanted to do make water management better for the society from beginning of our engineering course. Our college also encouraged us and helped us with our projects. I believe, this IOT innovation Challenge will be the best of the oppertunities for me and my team to chow case our idea.
